A fire broke out at a nursing home in Manado, Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, resulting in 16 deaths and 3 people suffering burns.
The Chief of the Fire and Rescue Department of Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi province, stated that firefighters received the alarm at 8:31 pm on the 28th.
The chief said that many of the victims’ bodies were found in their rooms, and at the time of the fire, many elderly residents were likely resting in their rooms.
The authorities evacuated 12 people, all of whom were unharmed.
Police say the blaze was brought under control late at night on the 28th, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
