(Israel, 23rd) Israel launched an airstrike in southern Lebanon, killing two Hezbollah militants.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the Israel Defense Forces said on Saturday (November 22) that two Hezbollah militants were killed earlier that day during a military operation in southern Lebanon.
The statement indicated that the activities of these two Hezbollah members violated the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, and the Israeli military would continue its operations in southern Lebanon.
The Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement came into effect on November 27 last year. According to the agreement, Israeli forces were to gradually withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26 this year. However, the Israeli side later accused Lebanon of not fully implementing the ceasefire agreement and extended the withdrawal deadline to February 18.
After the deadline, the Israeli military, citing the need to protect residents in its northern region, announced it would maintain an "indefinite" presence at five outposts in southern Lebanon. Lebanon, on the other hand, has demanded that Israeli forces fully withdraw from Lebanese-occupied territory.
