(Bandar Seri Begawan, 31st) To promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture and let young children feel the charm of traditional festivals in a joyous atmosphere, Brunei's Chung Hwa Middle School Kindergarten recently hosted a series of creative and fun Dragon Boat Festival celebration activities under the theme "Zongqing Duanwu Fun Dragon Boat." Through interactive experiences, children learned about the customs of the Dragon Boat Festival and inherited cultural roots.

The event enthusiastically took place on May 29th on the school campus, with all teachers and students actively participating. The assistant principal of Wen Zhong Kindergarten, Shen Manling, pointed out that through immersive experiences, the event enlightens young children about Chinese culture in a joyful atmosphere, enhancing recognition of national culture.

Principal Xu Yuelan stated that the school will continue to use traditional festivals as educational opportunities, integrating life practices with innovative teaching methods to nurture young children into future cultural inheritors.

The celebration began with relaxing and fun teaching sessions. Teachers introduced the origins of the Dragon Boat Festival, the significance of zongzi, and Qu Yuan's patriotic spirit to the children through picture book stories, nursery rhymes, and animated clips, sparking their interest in traditional festivals.

The "Zongqing Duanwu" hands-on experience followed, with older children trying to wrap zongzi under the guidance of teachers. They learned to fold bamboo leaves, fill them with glutinous rice, and tie them with cotton thread, experiencing the joy of labor and the warmth of the festival.

Next was the "Fun Dragon Boat" game segment. Teachers creatively used slip mats to let children mimic dragon boat rowing actions, feeling the rhythm and dynamics of cooperation amidst laughter. The children either sat on the slip mats being pulled by teachers or collaborated collectively to perform "dragon boat rowing" actions, making it lively and festive.

The event climaxed with the "Dry Land Dragon Boat Race." Children from each class collaborated in groups, using cardboard, cloth strips, and other materials to create creative dragon boats for a fun race on the ground. The small dragon boats advanced amidst laughter, and through teamwork, the children experienced the spirit of unity and endeavor, achieving educational fun and gaining abundantly.

Finally, teachers and students gathered in front of the Dragon Boat Festival-themed backdrop for a group photo, and together they tasted the sweet and delicious zongzi, drawing a warm conclusion to the festival activities.

This Dragon Boat Festival activity, integrating knowledge, crafts, games, and culture, not only enriched the campus life of the kindergarten but also sowed the seeds of inheriting Chinese culture in the children's hearts, laying a good foundation for the future.
