Iranian President Emphasizes Not Being Forced into Negotiations under Threat or Blockade

(Tehran, 26th) Iranian President Pezeshkian emphasized in a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif that Tehran will not be forced to negotiate under pressure, threats, or blockade.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Pezeshkian explained the factors obstructing the diplomatic process during his call with Sharif on Saturday (April 25).

He stressed that as long as the United States' hostile actions and military pressure continue, "restoring trust and advancing the dialogue process will face enormous difficulties."

He said that while the U.S. sends signals for dialogue, it keeps strengthening blockades and hostile actions—there is a fundamental contradiction between the two. This deepens the Iranian people's and government's distrust of the United States.

Pezeshkian made a clear suggestion to the U.S.: it should first remove obstacles such as blockades to create the necessary environment for problem solving. He emphasized that Iran only demands the safeguarding of its legitimate rights within the framework of international law and has made no demands beyond that framework.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistani Prime Minister's Office, the two leaders exchanged views in their conversation on the current regional situation and efforts to promote regional peace and stability.

According to the statement, Sharif reiterated Pakistan's firm commitment to maintaining regional peace and will continue to work to promote regional peace and security.

The statement said Pezeshkian thanked Sharif, Pakistani Army Chief Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar for their important contributions to the cause of peace.

Pezeshkian also expressed Iran's longing for peace and believes that the brotherly friendship between Iran and Pakistan will continue to deepen and expand in the future.

Additionally, Iran's Supreme Leader Mujtaba posted on social media on Saturday night, urging "Iran's southern neighbors" to recognize the situation, make the right judgments, and remain vigilant against the false promises of "malicious forces."

Mujtaba wrote on his official social media account: "We are still waiting for you to make an appropriate response to show brotherhood and goodwill between us. But this will only happen when you break free from those arrogant powers, who never waste an opportunity to humiliate and exploit you."
