32-year-old Chinese actress Sun Yi, who gained fame for her role as 'Mi Yao' in 'The Legend of Mi Yue,' recently revealed during a livestream that she suffered a severe allergic reaction to hair dye, causing her entire face to swell so much that she could not be seen in public.
During the livestream, Sun Yi admitted that she has always been allergic to hair dye, and has to take anti-allergy medication before each dyeing session. However, during a recent dye job, the medication did not work. She painfully shared: “Maybe because I’ve dyed my hair too many times, even the medication can’t suppress it anymore.”
Her whole face became so swollen she couldn’t go out, and she eventually had to go to the hospital for injections and underwent two consecutive days of IV drip treatment before improving. After experiencing such severe facial swelling, Sun Yi said she was frightened and decided that she will refrain from dyeing her hair for now. She exclaimed in fear: “I really don’t dare to dye my hair again.”
