From the title to the packaging, everything was designed to appear like a “breaking exclusive.” The blogger, upon searching for Song Joong-ki and seeing this, actually believed he had divorced again — until further checking proved that neither Song Joong-ki himself, his agency, nor mainstream Korean media had reported any marital issues. The claims of a second divorce were, from start to finish, entirely AI-generated fake news.
What’s more outrageous is that such videos are not limited to one; similar content like “Song Joong-ki divorces again,” “Second marriage broken,” “Marriage with Katy comes to an end,” has long circulated on YouTube and across the internet, exploiting his previous divorce to stir up drama. People who only glance at the thumbnails and headlines can easily mistake this content for verified news. Then, curiosity leads more to search for “Song Joong-ki divorces again.” With more people searching, related keywords trend, eventually creating a false impression of “Everyone is searching, so it must be true.”
However, Song Joong-ki and Katy have shown no signs of marital trouble. In April, the couple appeared together at an official public event for the first time in three years of marriage. They attended a concert at the Seoul Arts Center, serving as narrators, and were photographed with performers after the event, appearing close and natural — a stark contrast to the “marriage at an end” narrative presented in fake videos.
