In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, a gas station manager recently brought his 2-year-old daughter to work and allowed her to play in the gas station area. The little girl was left unsupervised, rolling on the driveway, and was tragically run over and killed by an SUV entering the station. A young boy witnessed the entire horrifying incident nearby.
The accident occurred on the morning of April 22. Surveillance footage from the gas station shows a 48-year-old man driving his SUV into the station to refuel. However, he failed to notice a girl lying and playing in the driveway and drove straight ahead, with the vehicle's wheel passing directly over her.
A boy was standing at the entrance of an adjacent building and happened to witness the whole process. Gas station staff members quickly rushed over upon realizing what had happened, and the girl's mother also ran out from the building upon hearing the commotion, collapsing in tears as she held her daughter.
Responding medical personnel attempted to save the girl at the scene but declared her dead due to severe injuries. Police have since launched an investigation.
The surveillance footage, once made public, sparked widespread discussion on Vietnamese social media, with many people believing that the girl's parents should bear the greatest responsibility. Despite managing the gas station themselves, they allowed their child to play in a dangerous area where vehicles frequently pass, with no adults supervising.
