(Miri, 1st) The charitable arm of Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOP), SOP Foundation, has stepped up to support communities recently affected by floods in Miri and Bintulu.
Due to continuous heavy rains affecting the area, many families have been forced to seek shelter in relief centers. In response, the SOP Foundation has provided essential supplies to assist those affected.
The relief supplies given by the foundation, including food, clean drinking water, and other necessities, have been distributed to several designated flood relief centers in Miri and Bintulu.
In Miri, aid has reached temporary disaster relief centers such as Miri Red Crescent, Pujut Tanjong Hall, Athlete Village, Miri Religious School, and Kampung Pujut Adong Kampung Civil Center.
Meanwhile, in Bintulu, the SOP Foundation provided aid to affected families at PPS SMK Assyakirin and PPS Kidurong.
SOP Foundation spokesperson Iris Yong stated that the organization is committed to helping communities during this challenging time. "We understand the difficulties faced by those affected by the floods and hope our donations can provide some immediate relief. SOP Foundation remains committed to supporting communities whenever needed."
SOP Foundation continues to work closely with the Sarawak government and relief agencies to ensure that aid is effectively distributed to those who need it most.
