Customs Department Inspection Operation Seizes Large Quantities of Cigarettes and Alcohol

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 10th) The Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED), through its Enforcement Division, in collaboration with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), conducted a joint inspection operation in the Kg Menungol area.
This operation resulted in the seizure and confiscation of the following contraband items: 1,110 cartons of cigarettes; 108 bottles and 2 cans of alcoholic beverages; as well as two engine-powered boats suspected to be used for smuggling activities.
 All items involved have been confiscated and sent to the enforcement department for further investigation.
In this regard, the Royal Customs and Excise Department reminds the public to always comply with all laws and regulations of Brunei, including refraining from engaging in the possession, sale, or purchase of any customs-restricted or prohibited items.
Anyone found participating in such activities will be subject to legal action according to the provisions of the Customs Order 2006 / Excise Order 2006.
