Since the 15th of this month, several men have used Douyin (Chinese TikTok) to summon others to gather outside the headquarters of “Time Fengjun Entertainment”—at the Changjiang International Building in Chongqing. They vandalized celebrity posters at the building entrance, placed black-and-white photos, and even confronted an 11-year-old trainee with their phones held close, provocatively yelling at him and calling him “Jiahao.” The trainee was so terrified that he cried after entering the company.
It didn’t stop there. These men also tore up fans’ support posters for male idols. When female fans on the scene protested, they responded with punches and kicks. According to footage circulating from the scene, a pair of mother and daughter were splashed with water by men nearby, entirely unable to defend themselves. There was even a girl attacked with a sharp object, bleeding, and the shocking footage quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread fury among idol fans online.
In response to reports of the disturbance, “Time Fengjun Entertainment” confirmed the incident through an official statement, emphasizing that the police had been called and urged the public not to spread false rumors. The next day, the company posted another announcement, stating that to protect their trainees, they would suspend all training activities immediately. Still, some fans expressed dissatisfaction with the company’s actions—while they understood the need to protect the artists, they questioned why the young female fans, who are the main economic supporters of the company, were left unprotected.
