The Qianhai-Huafa Ice and Snow World in Shenzhen, China, will officially open to the public at the end of this year. It is reported that the interior features ski slopes of varying difficulty levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes, with the longest being 450 meters and the maximum vertical drop being 83 meters. Staff stated, "Once completed, there will be cable cars set up on both sides of the slopes, similar to those used for mountain rides, which can take visitors to the highest point of the slope." The currently under construction Metro Line 20 Exhibition City Station will have an underground exit directly connecting to the Ice and Snow World in the future.
Cable Cars to the Highest Point of the Slopes
As the world's largest indoor ski resort at the lowest latitude, the Shenzhen Qianhai-Huafa Ice and Snow World features an indoor ski area with a building area of about 100,000 square meters. It boasts 5 slopes that meet professional competition standards, 2 terrain parks, and a snow play area; the longest slope is 450 meters and the maximum height difference is 83 meters, capable of hosting International Ski Federation-certified international ski competitions.
An official from Huafa Properties Shenzhen Company stated that the Shenzhen Qianhai-Huafa Ice and Snow World is not only Huafa's first representative landmark work in Shenzhen but also aids Shenzhen City in becoming an "ice and snow sports city" without natural ice and snow. It serves as a significant model for China's ice and snow projects to "move from north to south and from winter to all seasons." Currently, the steel structure of the ski resort is fully topped out, and the project's steel usage has reached the level of Beijing's "Bird's Nest." The complete exterior image will be presented by the end of this year.
