The Sembrong MP, Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin, whose UMNO membership was suspended three years ago, said that if the UMNO leadership lifts the suspension against him, he is ready to immediately return to UMNO and continue his struggle for the party.
Yesterday (12th), he responded via a video posted on Facebook in relation to UMNO President Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid’s recent statement that he is willing to unconditionally accept former UMNO members—those expelled, suspended, or who have left the party—back into UMNO.
He said that for him, returning to UMNO is not a problem because he never left the party; rather, it was the Supreme Council that suspended his membership.
He said that if the leadership sincerely lifts his suspension, he can immediately return to UMNO and continue his struggle, working together with Sembrong UMNO to strengthen the team and Johor UMNO.
Hishammuddin stated that after the UMNO leadership and Ahmad Zahid expressed willingness to unconditionally accept former members, he received many inquiries. Therefore, he felt it was necessary to respond to the Sembrong team and all those who care about him.
