Syria's capital, Damascus, and central city, Homs, among other places, were attacked by airstrikes on Monday night.

Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya TV reported that various locations in Syria, including Latakia, Damascus, Homs, and Qamishli, were hit by Israeli airstrikes.

The report stated that Israel attacked several major air force bases in Syria, destroying substantial infrastructure and dozens of helicopters and fighter jets.

Pro-Syrian opposition media also reported that Israel had attacked a naval fleet belonging to the Syrian government in Latakia.

Additionally, Israel's Foreign Minister Saar stated that the Israeli military's presence in Syria is "limited and temporary," aimed at ensuring Israel's security during the turmoil in Syria.

He emphasized that the sole objective of this operation is to secure Israel's safety.

Israel's Defense Minister Katz has ordered the Israeli military to fully control the buffer zone between Israel and Syria. According to a statement from the Israeli Defense Ministry, Katz has directed the military to establish a "security zone free of heavy strategic weapons and terrorist infrastructure" in southern Syria, including areas outside the buffer zone.

Katz also instructed the military to continue destroying "strategic weapons" within Syria, including surface-to-air missiles, air defense systems, surface-to-surface missiles, cruise missiles, long-range rockets, and shore-to-ship missiles.
