The website of China's Ministry of Commerce announced on the 16th the results of its anti-dumping investigation on certain pork and pork by-products originating from the European Union. The final ruling determined that these imported products from the EU were dumped, causing harm to domestic industries. Beginning from the 17th, anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.9% to 19.8% will be imposed on pork and related by-products originating from the EU, for a period of five years.
On June 17, 2024, the Ministry of Commerce released Announcement No. 23 of 2024, deciding to launch an anti-dumping investigation into pork and related by-products originating from the European Union (hereinafter referred to as the investigated products). On September 5, 2025, a preliminary ruling was published, which preliminarily found that pork and related by-products imported from the EU were dumped, causing substantial harm to the domestic industry, and that there was a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantial harm.
The Ministry of Commerce stated that the investigation has concluded and, in accordance with Article 25 of the Anti-Dumping Regulations, a final ruling has been made: the investigated products are being dumped, the domestic industry has suffered substantial harm, and there is a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantial harm. It has been decided that, from December 17, 2025, anti-dumping duties will be imposed on pork and related by-products imported from the EU, and anti-dumping duties will also be levied retroactively on related imports between September 10, 2025 and December 16, 2025.
The implementation period for the anti-dumping duties on the investigated products will be five years, starting from December 17, 2025.
