A 24-year-old medical university student in China, known as “Yigubigu,” has gone viral on the internet for her striking resemblance to the late actress Barbie Hsu (Xu Xiyuan), attracting over 31,000 followers on her Douyin account.
However, the sudden attention also brought immense pressure. Faced with some netizens questioning if she was “clout chasing,” she found it overwhelming and has deleted all her posts from social media platforms. In a post expressing her displeasure, she hoped her life could return to normal.
Yigubigu, who bears a close resemblance to Barbie Hsu, is currently studying at a medical university in Chongqing. She originally just shared photos of her travels and daily life online, but unexpectedly went viral due to her looks. In one post, she stated: “I really never thought about imitating her. I really like her, and I would never profit off her.” She also expressed confidence in her appearance: “I’m very satisfied with myself, so I won’t get cosmetic surgery. Never had it before, and never will.”
Her skyrocketing popularity has also sparked considerable skepticism. Some netizens accused her of hyping herself using the “Barbie Hsu” image, which angered her. Before deleting her posts, she wrote: “If you want to get famous, do it yourself. Stop bothering me. It’s really annoying. There are too many idiots.” This shows that her mental and emotional well-being has been significantly affected.
