The Russian Foreign Ministry stated on the 30th that Russia opposes any form of 'Taiwan independence' separatist actions.
In a written response to questions from a Xinhua News Agency reporter that day, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, "Some countries claim to adhere to the one-China principle, yet advocate maintaining the status quo—this in fact means they do not agree with the principle of China's national unity."
The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that at present, the Taiwan issue has in fact become a military strategic tool used by some countries to contain China.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reiterated that Russia's principled position on the Taiwan issue is well known and has remained consistent, and has been affirmed multiple times at the highest leadership level. Russia recognizes Taiwan as an inalienable part of China and opposes any form of 'Taiwan independence' separatist actions.
Russia believes that the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair, and China has every legitimate right to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
