(Miri, 12th) As the Lunar Year of the Snake approaches, the Miri Che Lee Khor Moral Uplifting Society held a charity event this morning, inviting Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, the Deputy Minister for Tourism Sarawak, to host. The event distributed New Year gift packages and red envelopes to 100 elderly and disabled persons from impoverished families, celebrating the joy of the New Year with them.
Due to the last-minute duties, the Hall Master Tony Pui was unable to attend, and the welcome speech was read by the acting Hall Master He Hongkun on his behalf. Tony Pui, through He Hongkun, apologized to the guests present and expressed New Year blessings, wishing everyone good health, family peace, and all the best in the new year.

He pointed out that the charity event has become one of Che Lee Khor's annual traditions, held three times a year, benefiting at least 100 families per event.He emphasized that this charity event not only showcased the charitable spirit of De Jiao but also continued the tradition of caring for the disadvantaged groups by all sectors of society during the festive season. "Through the donation of gifts and red envelopes, we hope to share the warmth and joy of the holiday with the disadvantaged groups, making society filled with more love."
