BELADIN,7 July: A total of 116 units of smart televisions (TVs) were distributed to four secondary schools in the Batang Lupar parliamentary constituency to support efforts to strengthen the teaching and learning (T&L) process, which is increasingly evolving.

Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli said it was among the T&L needs of the digital era, as requested by the schools.

“I see it as something that should be done because the teaching and learning pattern is changing significantly.

“I am very honoured to present this smart TV donation to facilitate the teaching and learning process to be more effective, interesting, and interactive,” he said during the Parent Facilities Programme and Digital Device Handover Ceremony (Smart Television) at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Beladin yesterday.

Thirty-five units of smart TVs have been installed at SMK Beladin and SMK Pusa, respectively.

Meanwhile, 20 and 26 units of smart TVs are in the process of being installed at SMK Lingga and SMK Sebuyau, respectively.

“I will try my best to help the schools to ensure that their needs are met from time to time,” he said.

Mohamad Shafizan also touched on the collective efforts of all parties to address the critical issue of absenteeism.

“I am confident that the school, the Parent-Teacher Association, and the local community can find a solution to this issue,” he said.

Apart from presenting the smart TVs, he also handed over incentives at the same ceremony to excellent students who obtained an A in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) last year.

“I hope that this encouragement and the new facilities in schools can support the children’s development.

“This, in turn, can improve teaching methods in the classroom, which is believed to contribute to better results in the four secondary schools in the Batang Lupar parliamentary constituency in the future,” he said.

Mohamad Shafizan also contributed RM9,000 for the SPM 2025 workshop and tuition programme.
