(Daro 14th News) After the efforts of the Sarawak government to enhance local facilities, the Daro People's Market (Pasar Rakyat Daro) now presents itself with a brand new look, providing a better operating environment for small entrepreneurs in the area.
This upgrade project, costing RM787,290, is an important initiative by the government to create a more comfortable and conducive environment for local vendors and tourists.
Daro District Assemblyman (N.43) Safiee Ahmad stated that the implementation of this project is expected to stimulate the local economy and create more development opportunities for small entrepreneurs.
“The upgrade works include the construction of a new roof, improved drainage system, and the re-planning of stall layout.
In addition, various basic facilities have been added to ensure the comfort of vendors and customers," he said during the opening ceremony of the market held yesterday.
He pointed out that this initiative is crucial to ensure that vendors conduct their businesses in a cleaner, more orderly, and appealing environment, and it will also make Daro a hotspot for tourists from various regions.
He also hopes that vendors can make full use of the facilities provided to enhance competitiveness and improve the quality of services.
“This market is not only a place for transactions but also has the potential to become a catalyst for rural economic development, provided that its potential is fully realized,” he added.
