Two Thousand People Compete for Jobs as Sarawak Metro Recruitment Heats Up

(Kuching, 30th) Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd’s on-site interview event held over the weekend received an enthusiastic response from the public.
This interview session took place continuously on September 27th and 28th at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), attracting nearly 2,000 job seekers interested in joining Sarawak Metro.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to locals, the event also drew many job seekers from outside Kuching. These candidates made special efforts, flying or driving from other regions to take part.

The main focus of recruitment was on operations and maintenance positions, including: Automated Rapid Transit (ART) train drivers, hydrogen bus drivers, assistant dispatchers, station attendants, as well as technicians in various fields.
This fully demonstrates Sarawak Metro’s commitment to providing local employment opportunities while building a modern, efficient, and sustainable public transportation system.
Sarawak Metro will continue to strengthen its role in advancing a hydrogen public transport system in line with Sarawak’s green transport policy objectives.
This effort not only illustrates the company’s commitment to sustainable urban transportation but also brings a greater demand for professionals to operate and maintain the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS), ensuring the smoothness, reliability, and safety of future public transport services.
Sarawak Metro Chief Executive Officer Mazli Mustaffa said: "We are very pleased and greatly encouraged by the public’s immense interest shown over the weekend. This truly gives us confidence and motivation to fulfill our commitment to building an efficient, reliable, and sustainable public transport system in Sarawak."

Mazli once again emphasized that the company will remain steadfast in driving the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project, to build a safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly public transport system.
