(Sibujaya, 4th) The 2025 Sibujaya Carnival has once again demonstrated its role as an economic catalyst, successfully recording a total sales amount exceeding RM1.1 million during the event period, bringing considerable income to local residents.
Sibujaya administrative officer Dato Michael Roni Langgong stated that as of August 1st, total carnival sales had reached RM1,137,600, covering sectors such as automobiles, food, and retail.
Among them, automobile sales accounted for RM650,000, business stalls recorded RM196,000, while food stalls achieved an income of RM291,600.
“These figures prove that the carnival is not just an entertainment event, but also directly drives local economic growth, especially benefitting micro, small, and medium enterprises (PMKS),” he said during his speech at the Sibujaya Carnival closing ceremony yesterday.
He pointed out that the impressive sales results demonstrate consumers’ confidence in local products as well as the effectiveness of promotional efforts during the event.
Michael also revealed that as of July 31st, the carnival attracted over 50,000 visitors, especially notable crowds during the past weekend.
He said most visitors came from neighboring areas such as Mukah, Saratok, Kabong, and Tanjung Manis, with many also making a trip to the Dalat Carnival.
He added that the increase in visitor numbers also benefited from the opening of the Rajang Bridge, making travel to Sibujaya and surrounding areas more convenient.
“This carnival is not only a platform for cultural display, but also provides the people with an important source of income and a space for business development,” he said.
