Xue Zhiqian's team announced that the cumulative "number of concert-goers" for his 12 shows at the Bird's Nest exceeded 697,000, emphasizing this figure reflects the actual number of ticket-holding audience members, setting records for both total number of attendees and box office sales for a single tour by a Chinese singer, with an average of about 58,000 per show.
By contrast, Zhang Jie's team has used the promotional phrase "mobilized over 1 million attendees." According to Beijing's official confirmation, this number refers to the total headcount entering and exiting the Olympic Center Area during the concert period, including ticketed audience, staff, park visitors, and fans listening outside the venue. Based on nearly 48,000 fans per show, Zhang Jie's 16 concerts had an estimated actual audience of about 768,000.
Industry observers point out that these two data sets are "based on different counting rules," and simply comparing "mobilized headcount" with "actual ticketed attendance" is inappropriate.
