(Miri, 26th) Miri Hakka Association Chairman Jiang Xianzhu encouraged young Hakka members to pass down the Hakka spirit and Chinese culture through the art of calligraphy.
He said that the purpose of organizing this calligraphy competition is to allow children, while improving their writing ability, to also experience the beauty of culture in the process of learning calligraphy, cultivating patience, focus, and self-confidence, and thereby building a love for traditional culture.
As Jiang Xianzhu was unable to attend the opening ceremony of the 2025 Hakka Descendants Calligraphy Inheritance Competition held by the Miri Hakka Association Youth Group at their clubhouse yesterday afternoon, his speech was read on his behalf by Association Vice Chairman Huang Nengxi.

Jiang Xianzhu remarked that every young Hakka member participating in the competition is a bearer of the culture; regardless of the competition results, as long as they write earnestly and experience it whole-heartedly, that is already the biggest gain.
He encouraged the participants to write with splendor and achieve growth through brush and ink, and expressed gratitude to the hardworking teachers and ever-supportive parents, believing that with everyone's contributions, Hakka culture can be passed down from generation to generation, endlessly enduring. He also wished all participating young Hakka members brilliant performances and hoped they showcase their strengths and achieve ideal results.
