A 59-year-old man in Songkhla, Thailand, was seen sexually abusing a stray dog inside a park restroom. Police subsequently arrested the suspect based on clues and found that he was a civil servant about to retire, who had reportedly been committing such acts for over a year.

According to Thai media outlet The Thaiger, animal protection volunteers recently discovered a thin, bald man wearing a striped T-shirt and shorts inside the restroom of a well-known park in Songkhla Province. However, at that time, his pants were not even properly worn, making his behavior highly suspicious.

The volunteer immediately questioned what the man was doing, and unexpectedly, the man directly admitted to “just abusing that dog,” pointing to the female dog victim. The man then became agitated, even attempting to hit the witness, before hurriedly fleeing the scene.

The volunteer recorded the conversation between the two on a cellphone.

The volunteer told media that he had long suspected the man’s behavior, as the man would frequently ride a motorcycle around the park, behaving oddly and often getting close to stray dogs. He also mentioned that as early as half a year ago, nearby vendors had witnessed similar incidents but did not intervene, fearing trouble.

It is understood that this park covers a large area, with several pavilions and a two-story public restroom building. Many elderly people usually gather here to exercise. There are about 10 to 20 stray dogs in the park, but unexpectedly, it became a hidden place for the suspect to commit his acts.

Animal protection activists strongly criticized, stating it is suspected the man has sexually abused stray dogs for over a year, a serious violation of ethics and the law.

In addition, according to authorities' investigations, the suspect is a civil servant due to retire in September. Police have now issued a summons. As the volunteer already obtained video evidence clearly capturing the abuse, there is sufficient evidence to prosecute. The man may subsequently face imprisonment and fines.
