2025 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award First Ever in Miri, Nomination Opens

(Miri, 3rd) The JCI Miri officially launches the 2025 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYM) selection event, marking this prestigious national event’s first ever hosting in Miri, Sarawak.

With the theme "Trailblazing Change, Inspiring Generations," the event aims to recognize Malaysian youth who shape the future through leadership, innovation, and impact, while inspiring more young people to pursue excellence and actively give back to society. Sarawak's Minister of Transport and JCI Senator Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin was invited as the guest of honor to witness this historic moment.

Candy Yong Chuen Tien, chairman of the 2025 Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award Committee, stated at the press conference that since its establishment, the JCI TOYM selection has committed to honoring young talents who have achieved excellence in their respective fields.

“The JCI TOYM award is not only an honor but a symbol of hope and inspiration. It focuses on outstanding young individuals who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields and society, hoping to inspire more young people to demonstrate resilience, diversity, and courageously pursue excellence.”

She emphasized that this year's theme, "Trailblazing Change, Inspiring Generations," not only recognizes individuals leading change but also focuses on how they pave the way for future generations.

She said that 2025 JCI TOYM being held in Miri is an important milestone for both JCI Miri and the entire Sarawak community.

“We are very honored to take on this responsibility and look forward to celebrating Malaysia’s most outstanding young leaders with everyone. At the same time, we encourage more young people, especially young people in Sarawak, to actively participate and submit nominations."

She added that there are many outstanding young leaders in Sarawak who deserve national recognition, and this platform is the best opportunity to showcase their influence.

With the official launch of the event, JCI Miri will successively launch a series of important activities to warm up for the 2025 JCI TOYM awards ceremony, including the "Nomination Call" open to Malaysian youth aged 18 to 40 who have a positive impact in their respective fields. The nomination period is from March 2 to June 30, 2025; “Public Engagement Programs” including motivational talks, workshops, and exchanges with past JCI TOYM winners; “Finalist Selection & Judging Process” where a respected panel of judges will select the ten outstanding youth based on achievements and contributions.

This grand launch ceremony also kicks off the TOYM Awards Ceremony to be held in Miri on September 19, 2025. JCI Miri warmly invites all sectors of society, enterprises, and organizations to participate in this historic event by nominating outstanding youth, supporting related activities, and attending the 2025 JCI TOYM Awards Gala to witness this extraordinary event.
