Hunan TV’s variety show “Hello Saturday” recently made a shocking blunder during recording, mistakenly placing guest Zhang Jingyi’s name tag photo as Zhou Ye, which sparked heated discussion. Although both involved actresses have spoken out separately requesting an apology from the production team, the show has not responded. What’s more, netizens noticed that Zhang Jingyi’s individual promo was conspicuously omitted, further fueling the controversy.
On the episode of “Hello Saturday” aired on the 2nd, Zhang Jingyi appeared as the female lead to promote her new drama “Meng Hua Ting.” However, her name tag photo was mistakenly replaced with that of another actress, Zhou Ye. Zhang Jingyi’s studio subsequently released a statement requesting the show to delete the incorrect footage and make a public apology. Nevertheless, the production team has yet to issue any formal response and even intentionally omitted Zhang Jingyi’s individual preview from subsequent promos, escalating the situation.
After news of “Hello Saturday” leaving out Zhang Jingyi’s promo content spread, many netizens harshly criticized the production team for failing to face the issue after making a mistake, instead displaying an “arrogant” attitude; there are also some voices who suggest that the matter could possibly be resolved privately rather than escalating to a public confrontation.
