Title: Lost 3 Million Followers After Giving Away Cars, Huang Zitao Responds Sadly

Huang Zitao's straightforward and sincere personality has attracted a lot of fans. Previously, during a live-stream sales session, he made a bold claim that he would give away 10 cars if his followers exceeded 15 million. This statement immediately stirred up discussion, and subsequently, his followers indeed skyrocketed by 5 million overnight. Recently, Huang Zitao conducted a live stream to fulfill his promise, attracting over 9 million people online for the draw. However, after the lottery ended, it unexpectedly triggered a mass unfollowing, with millions of followers vanishing in an instant.

On the 10th, Huang Zitao went live as agreed with netizens, and held a lottery to give away 10 "Baojun Yundai" cars, each retailing at an official price of 109,800 RMB (approximately RM 67,000). 10 netizens had already won. But don’t get too excited yet; Huang Zitao explained that due to the regulations on prize sales in live streaming, the prize value cannot exceed 50,000 RMB (approximately RM 30,000). So after discussions with both parties, the winners could only receive usage rights for 5 years and must return the vehicles after that period. Nonetheless, Huang Zitao, who originally promised to give away only 10 cars, added 20 more cars to the list, with 10 of those being designated for donation to a women and children fund.

It is reported that after Huang Zitao announced the car giveaway, his followers had surged to over 45 million at its peak. However, after the lottery live stream ended, a wave of unfollows came, reducing his followers by more than 3 million, which also pushed "Huang Zitao loses over a million followers" to the top of Weibo's trending list. Despite the ongoing unfollowing, Huang Zitao, with his usual humorous personality, responded, “If everyone unfollows because they didn't win, to be honest, I’ll be very disappointed and sad. Don’t let me experience the feeling of suddenly standing very high and then suddenly falling.”
