(Singapore, 9th) As Super Typhoon Bavi approaches Taiwan, Singapore Airlines and Scoot have announced that a total of 18 flights will be affected tomorrow and the day after (10th and 11th), with 16 of them being canceled.
According to Singapore Airlines’ website, tomorrow (10th), the SQ878 and SQ879 flights between Singapore and Taipei will have their departure times changed to 11:00 am and 5:30 pm, respectively.
On the following day (11th), the SQ876, SQ877, SQ878, and SQ879 flights between Singapore and Taipei will be canceled.
Singapore Airlines stated that the company will notify all affected passengers. As the situation is highly changeable, more flights may be affected later on, so the company urges passengers to check the official website for the latest flight information. All passengers affected by flight cancellations will be offered alternative flights or a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets.
In addition, according to an announcement on Scoot’s website, 12 flights between Singapore and Japan & South Korea, as well as transit flights via Taipei, have been canceled.
The canceled flights on the next two days (10th and 11th) include:
- Singapore–Tokyo TR874, TR875, TR866, and TR867
- Singapore–Sapporo TR892 and TR893
- Singapore–Seoul TR872 and TR873
Scoot stated that affected passengers may change flights or apply for a full refund. Customers who booked tickets through travel agencies or partner airlines can seek assistance directly from the travel agency or the airline with whom the ticket was purchased.
