Director of 'Ne Zha 2' Suspected of Wearing Hermès, Truth Takes a Dramatic Turn

Chinese animated film "Ne Zha: The Devil Child Surging the Sea" ("Ne Zha 2") is creating a box office miracle, raking in 8.7 billion RMB (approximately 5.32 billion MYR) in 14 days of release. It has climbed to 28th on the global movie box office charts, being the only non-Hollywood film in the top 30, and is still in hot demand. The director, Jiaozi (Yang Yu), has become a legendary figure, with "Ne Zha 2" showcasing that all animation scenes are produced by various Chinese animation companies without any foreign assistance, highlighting the unity of China's animation industry. However, netizens discovered he previously wore a suspected Hermès sweater during an interview, which suddenly shattered his "patriotic" image. Yet, after further investigation by netizens, the truth completely turned around!

After netizens suggested that the sweater might be from Hermès, discussions erupted among the "little pinks." Some felt that since his movie was so well-made, he could wear anything he wanted, while others, knowing his usual simple style, doubted he would buy name brands. Of course, some believed his image had collapsed. Subsequently, his company "Coloroom Pictures" posted a link stating it was just an ordinary sweater, priced at 428 RMB (about 261 MYR). Although the response censored the brand name, this didn't deter netizens who quickly uncovered the real origin of the sweater.

It turned out that this khaki sweater was from the Chinese budget brand "Hengyuanxiang," and was actually a fall model from three years ago. Netizens commented that because this brand often "references" designer fashion, it caused the director to be unfairly blamed for such a big misunderstanding.
