(Miri, 21st) Miri Hospital Blood Donation Center is urging the public to donate blood at the center to increase the hospital's blood supply for emergencies.

As is well known, Miri Hospital's annual goal is for about 12,000 people to donate blood to ensure a safe and sufficient blood supply for patient use. Therefore, the center encourages those who wish to donate blood to visit Miri Hospital or participate in blood donation events organized by the center.

The Miri Hospital Blood Donation Center offers various facilities for donors, one of which includes six dedicated parking spaces for blood donors in front of the building.

Additionally, the center provides spacious facilities for donors, including a lounge and a comfortable waiting area. Donors can receive a free health check-up because each donor is required to undergo a health check before donating blood, such as checking hemoglobin levels, blood type, and blood pressure.

The donation age for first-time donors is between 17 to 60 years, while regular donors can donate until the age of 70. Those who are 17 years old must obtain written consent from a parent or guardian.

Moreover, donors must weigh over 45 kilograms, have had at least five hours of sleep, be in good health, and have eaten before donating blood.

The center is very grateful to the public, especially the people of Miri, for their support of the Miri Hospital blood bank. Continue to donate blood every three months regularly to ensure a sufficient blood supply. A big thank you to all donors for their continued support; without your support, the current blood supply cannot meet the growing annual demand.

The service hours for the donation center are Monday to Thursday: 8 AM to 12:15 PM, and 2 PM to 4:15 PM; Friday: 8 AM to 11:15 AM, and 2:15 PM to 4:15 PM, except weekends and public holidays.
