From June 27 to August 18 this year, Cambodian law enforcement authorities carried out a nationwide special operation against online fraud, arresting a total of 3,170 individuals involved in such cases. Among them, 66 have been identified as principal criminal suspects and referred to the courts, while more than 2,450 foreigners have been deported.
According to a report by China News Service, on the 21st, the Secretariat of the National Committee for Combating Online Fraud in Cambodia announced that, over the past three years, Cambodia has uncovered more than 24,000 cases involving online fraud and related crimes, with a cumulative total of nearly 24,000 foreign nationals deported. At the same time, law enforcement agencies have rescued more than 4,800 victims from 27 countries.
From the 8th to the 12th of this month, law enforcement departments in Kampot Province, Cambodia, carried out operations against multiple online fraud criminal dens, arresting 17 suspects involved in major offenses such as murder, online fraud, and human trafficking, and rescuing over 10 South Korean victims.
