An Indian couple’s elopement triggered a fierce act of revenge! The bride’s father, displeased that his daughter disobeyed him by marrying against his wishes, called in an excavator at night and in just a few minutes razed the groom’s family home to the ground, leaving nothing but rubble. Fortunately, the occupants managed to escape in time and no casualties occurred.
According to a report by New Delhi Television (NDTV), the incident took place in Ghegholi village, India. On August 10 last year, a woman named Kiran and a man named Ram chose to elope for love and registered their marriage. The union strongly displeased Kiran’s father, Giriraj, who felt his daughter had gone against his wishes.
On the night of September 9 of the same year, an excavator drove into the village and headed straight to the groom’s family house. In a short time, three cement-constructed rooms and a courtyard were entirely demolished: walls collapsed and furniture was scattered everywhere. The sudden demolition forced the family inside to flee in panic, causing a scene of chaos.
Under the shadow of violent demolition and intimidation, the groom’s family chose to leave the village and went into hiding elsewhere for nearly five months. Only recently did they return to the locality to file a police report.
The local police stated that a case has been registered against Giriraj and his accomplices, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects.
