TEBEDU,15 July: The St. Nicholas Church in Kampung Temong Bengan has been granted RM200,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) to undertake upgrading works on its facilities.
Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada officially presented the allocation during a handover ceremony held on Sunday.
In his remarks, he highlighted that the funds were approved following a formal application submitted to UNIFOR, which remained steadfast in its mission to support and uplift non-Muslim houses of worship throughout Sarawak.
Simon also urged the church’s management committee, along with the village chief, to ensure that a detailed report was prepared on the project’s progress and implementation.
“The report must be comprehensive and well-documented, covering the condition of the facilities before, during and after the upgrading works.
“Inadequate reporting may jeopardise future applications for additional funding,” he cautioned.
