Denied Involvement in Pan Borneo Highway Project Corruption Alexander Reports to Police for Thorough Investigation

(Sibu, 8th) Minister of Works, Dato' Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, refuted rumors circulating on the social media platform Telegram, denying involvement in corruption related to the Sabah Pan Borneo Highway (WP35) project.
He posted a statement on Facebook today, saying that this is a defamatory and baseless accusation, and also a slander against him as a government official.
"The related content directly accuses me, as the Malaysian Minister of Works, and such accusations are defamatory, unfounded, and malicious. I firmly deny these accusations."
Alexander Nanta Linggi said that these false accusations not only affect his personal reputation but also damage the reputations of the Ministry of Works and the Malaysian government.
He pointed out that what is even more concerning is that this information appearing on Telegram has now spread to other social media platforms, which may cause public misunderstanding and negative perceptions.
In view of this, his Senior Private Secretary filed a police report at Tun Leong Hew Siang police station yesterday to prove innocence and requested the police to conduct an immediate thorough investigation.
"I will cooperate fully in any way with the investigation, and the enforcement authorities should take appropriate action against anyone who spreads defamatory statements."
He also emphasized that the act of spreading defamation should not be used as a political weapon or become a tool to suppress others for personal gain.
