The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 13th, denying media reports about the UAE transferring funds to Iran, including some reports alleging that the amount involved was 3 billion USD (approximately 12.167 billion MYR).
The statement said these reports are completely unfounded and purely fabricated, and reiterated that the UAE has not unfrozen, transferred, or assisted in transferring any frozen Iranian funds.
On the 12th, some media outlets quoted sources reporting that the UAE had agreed to unlock at least 10 billion USD in funds for Iran, with more than 3 billion USD already in place.
