Ji Xiaobo Angrily Refutes 'FBI Wanted' Rumors; Pace Wu Posts Victory Statement

Taiwanese actress Pace Wu’s fiancé Ji Xiaobo was accused two years ago by Mirror Media of being “wanted globally by the U.S. FBI” and “involved in pink transactions,” for which the couple filed a lawsuit. Last month, they won the verdict in the first civil trial. On the 15th, Pace Wu posted a victory statement on Instagram, saying: “I will continue to safeguard the lawful rights and reputation of myself and my entire family in accordance with the law, and will never tolerate all kinds of rumor-mongering and smear campaigns.” This is not her first dispute with the media; she once lamented, “I’ve been smeared for years, I’ve lost track of how many cases I’ve won, and all my previous compensation has been donated to charitable causes.”

Two years ago, Pace Wu called the related reports “unjust,” stating, “We also don’t know how this happened, no one asked us for clarification (referring to seeking confirmation),” considering the reports to be groundless fabrications that have seriously damaged the reputations of her and Ji Xiaobo, demanding corrections and removal, and will pursue accountability.

On the 15th, Pace Wu released the victory statement, stating that the court ordered Mirror Media company and the reporter to jointly compensate Ji Xiaobo and Pace Wu 1 million NT dollars each (about RM128,000), remove and delete the false reports, and post the full text of the court decision at the top of the Mirror weekly website for 30 consecutive days.
