(Miri, 7th) The Malaysian Ministry of Health has issued infografik kesihatan to educate the public on the causes and symptoms of food poisoning.
The infografik kesihatan states that food poisoning refers to any illness caused by consuming contaminated food or drinks, with the main three causes being bacterial infections, chemical contamination, and glass or mineral contamination.
Food poisoning symptoms can range from mild to very severe. People may suffer from food poisoning without knowing which food caused it.
Since different bacteria and viruses can cause different symptoms, the ministry advises the public to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms of food poisoning appear.
In addition, the ministry reminds the public to use sight, smell, and taste to identify unhygienic food. If the food condition remains unchanged or has an odd odor, it should no longer be consumed.
