(Marudi, 14th) In support of educational development and enhancing local community welfare, SaraCarbon proudly announces the distribution of school uniform and shoe vouchers to 338 students from 12 villages within the Marudi Carbon Sink Project area. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure students can adequately prepare for the new academic year during the flood season.
The beneficiaries include kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students, each receiving vouchers for two sets of uniforms and one pair of shoes. The vouchers will be distributed on February 14, 2025, giving the students ample time to prepare before the start of the new term on February 17.
SaraCarbon CEO Lawrence Chia stated that education is the most powerful tool to change the world, and SaraCarbon is firmly committed to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
He stated that quality education is a fundamental human right that not only helps individuals develop social skills and cultural awareness but also provides the necessary training for future employment. Currently, the beneficiaries have been informed to await the vouchers and are advised to make purchases only after receiving them. Meanwhile, SaraCarbon has coordinated with local suppliers to ensure that all beneficiaries can smoothly redeem uniforms and shoes.
