POMtec 2025 Gala Dinner Chan Foong Hin: Affirming Industry Contributions

(Miri, 19th) The Sarawak Oil Palm Plantation Owners Association (SOPPOA) held the "2025 Palm Oil Management, Technology, Exhibition, and Conference (POMtec 2025)" gala dinner last night at Pullman Hotel in Miri. The event brought together government officials, industry leaders, and related businesses to discuss the future of the industry and promote innovation and sustainable development.

Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Chan Foong Hin, stated in his speech at the dinner that the global competitiveness of Malaysia's palm oil industry relies on the efforts of the industry.

Chan Foong Hin emphasized that this dinner is an important moment to recognize industry contributions. Industry personnel have achieved outstanding accomplishments in promoting sustainable development and technological innovation, laying the foundation for Malaysia's palm oil industry to continue leading globally.

He stressed that amidst the rapidly changing global market environment, the government will continue to promote policies of innovation and sustainable development to enhance productivity and ensure Malaysia's international reputation as a major commodity producing nation.

He urged the government, industry, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen cooperation through collaboration between research institutions and the industry, investment in research and development, and digital transformation to collectively overcome challenges and seize opportunities to ensure the sustainable development of the industry.

Moreover, he mentioned challenges such as labor shortages, trade barriers, and market misconceptions, emphasizing that the industry should utilize the POMtec 2025 platform to establish meaningful partnerships to drive industry progress.

Finally, he thanked all individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of the palm oil industry and praised the successful organization of POMtec 2025. He hoped that through innovation, responsibility, and the spirit of excellence, the industry will move towards a brighter future.
