China has achieved a significant breakthrough in the independent development of large unmanned transport systems. According to China Central Television, the HH-200 aviation commercial unmanned transport system, independently developed by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, recently completed its maiden flight test in Pucheng, Shaanxi Province, marking the official debut of this equipment known as the “unmanned cargo aircraft.”
During the maiden flight test, the HH-200 flew continuously for 22 minutes and successfully completed all scheduled flight maneuvers. Throughout the process, all aircraft systems and equipment functioned normally, the flight posture was stable, and the first flight was a complete success.
The HH-200 aviation commercial unmanned transport system consists of an unmanned aerial vehicle and a ground control system. Its core UAV boasts outstanding performance indicators, with a maximum commercial payload capacity of 1.5 tons and a maximum range of 2360 kilometers. Its cargo hold has a standard volume of 12 cubic meters, and can be expanded to 18 cubic meters as required, enabling a transport capacity equivalent to that of a small truck.
The report pointed out that to improve logistics efficiency, this model adopts a pass-through low cargo compartment design, which allows seamless docking with common ground handling equipment such as forklifts. Reportedly, only two staff members are needed to complete cargo loading and unloading operations within five minutes.
● Can Adapt to Harsh Environments Such as Plateaus and Severe Cold
Additionally, the HH-200 boasts strong environmental adaptability, capable of carrying out missions on short runways, high plateaus, in extreme heat and cold, and under harsh meteorological and complex conditions. After completing subsequent multiple flight tests and being officially put into commercial operation, this system can be widely used in the delivery of emergency rescue supplies, aerial remote sensing, as well as in agricultural and forestry protection and other fields.
