(SARIKEI, 10th) — The Tengku Haji Bujang Bridge Half Marathon is set to make history, with over 1,600 people having registered for this inaugural event, surpassing the organizer’s initial target of 1,000 participants.
Datuk Len Talif, assemblyman for Kuala Rajang, stated that registration, which was previously open, has officially closed today, yet there are still running enthusiasts seeking slots to participate.
“We are very encouraged by the enthusiastic response from Sri Aman residents—this proves the community's strong support for such activities,” he said.
He pointed out that the event not only promotes Sri Aman as a new sports tourism destination, but also serves as a platform to unite the community. Through this high-profile event, the iconic Tengku Haji Bujang Bridge, a symbol of infrastructural transformation, is brought into the spotlight.
The Tengku Haji Bujang Bridge Half Marathon is jointly organized by the N41 Kuala Rajang Service Centre, Sri Aman District Office, and SABERKAS N41 Kuala Rajang, with five main categories available.
Organizers have prepared a total of RM36,500 in cash and vouchers for the winners of the 21km and 10km categories.
The registration fees are RM90 for the 21km category, RM70 for the 10km category, and RM50 for the 5km category.
All participants will receive an event T-shirt, medal, participation certificate, race bib, refreshments, and a goodie bag; 21km runners will also be given a finisher T-shirt and a night running light as additional rewards.
The event is scheduled to take place on August 24th and is expected to attract participants of all ages, allowing them to challenge their physical endurance while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Tengku Haji Bujang Bridge.
