(Miri, 6th) Organized by the Miri Care Welfare Association (WOW) and co-organized by the N75 Senadin Service Center, the “WOW SmartCut Gaya N75 Senadin” haircut event successfully attracted 1,370 participants for haircuts yesterday. The organizers will officially apply to be listed in the Malaysia Book of Records.

Sarawak Minister of Transport and Senadin State Assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, who attended the closing ceremony last night held at the event hall on the second floor of Permy Mall Miri, announced that a total of 1,370 people completed haircuts, setting a new record for similar haircut events in Malaysia.

He said the event ran from 10am to 10pm on July 5, with the original target set at 1,500 haircuts, aiming to challenge for entry into the Malaysia Book of Records.

Although the final number did not reach the target of 1,500, the participation of 1,370 people is already sufficient to apply for entry into the Malaysia Book of Records.

Lee Kim Shin stated that after the final confirmation that night, the number of participants was updated from the earlier count of 1,363 to 1,370, and so the organizers will apply with this figure.

“Everyone should be proud tonight. According to the final count, we successfully set a new record, and will be applying for entry into the Malaysia Book of Records.”

He thanked the Miri Care Welfare Association (WOW), committee members, and all participating hairstylists, especially the 40 hairstylists who voluntarily took part in this community service, offering free haircuts from 10 am to 10 pm for youths ages 18 to 28.

“I want to thank the 40 hairstylists. Without your selfless dedication, we wouldn’t have achieved today’s success. Please give them the warmest applause.”

Lee Kim Shin also congratulated all participants, hoping that this event can continue in the future to unite the community and benefit more youths.

In addition, he jokingly announced on site that, to commemorate this record-setting event, a signature hairstyle for the Senadin constituency called “Gaya N75” will be launched.

He explained that this idea was discussed with the hairstylists participating in the event, hoping that in the future, all hairstylists will promote the “Gaya N75,” making it a representative hairstyle for the Senadin constituency and a memento of the record-setting event.

“From today, we officially launch ‘Gaya N75’ and hope that more people will know and accept this hairstyle belonging to N75 Senadin in the future.”
