Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on the 7th that Israel intends to control the entire Gaza Strip and then hand it over to armed forces from Arab states to govern Gaza.
During an interview with Fox News, he was asked if Israel would control the whole of Gaza, to which he responded accordingly.
He said: "We do indeed plan to do that, to ensure our security, to remove Hamas, to enable Gaza residents to be freed from Hamas' rule, and to hand Gaza over to a civilian government that is neither Hamas nor any group that advocates the destruction of Israel."
He pointed out that Israel hopes to establish a security buffer zone and hopes to hand over Gaza to the armed forces of Arab states for governance.
He said: "We do not want to occupy Gaza for the long term. We want to establish a secure border. We do not want to govern it, nor do we want to stay in Gaza as a ruling authority."
It is reported that Netanyahu is inclined to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, and Israel's security cabinet is expected to approve this.
