Reportedly, after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang attended a dinner at Mar-a-Lago last week, the Trump administration changed its plan to restrict the export of Nvidia H20 artificial intelligence chips to China.

The National Public Radio (NPR) cited sources reporting that the Trump administration had planned over the past several months to implement export controls on the Nvidia H20 chip, with the initial rollout as soon as this week. However, Nvidia promised the Trump administration to invest in new AI data centers in the United States, which caused the control plan to change.
The H20 chip is the most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) processor that China can legally obtain under U.S. export controls.
Foreign media reported in February this year that the Chinese AI startup "DeepSeek" has a strong demand for H20 due to their low-cost AI model, driving an increase in H20 orders.
U.S. tech news sites reported that Chinese companies like ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent placed orders for Nvidia H20 chips totaling at least 16 billion USD (71.938 billion MYR) in the first three months of this year.
