Wednesday (4th) marks the 36th anniversary of the June 4th Incident, with a large police presence in the vicinity of Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Police stated that as of 11:30 PM on the 4th, 2 people have been arrested and 10 detained for investigation in the Central and Eastern Districts of Hong Kong Island. Among those detained, the youngest is 15 years old.

According to reports from several Hong Kong media outlets, Hong Kong Deputy Commissioner of Police (National Security) Edwina Lau and National Security Department Chief Steve Li also inspected Victoria Park in the afternoon.

The Hong Kong Police said that a 26-year-old Chinese woman exhibited suspicious behavior in a public area on Garden Road on the afternoon of the 4th. During an inspection, she was unable to provide valid identification to the officers, and was arrested on suspicion of "failure to produce identification documents." She was taken to the police station for further investigation and was later released.

Another case involves a 24-year-old local Hong Kong man, who, during an inspection by officers near Hing Fat Street at night, was suspected of being emotionally agitated and uncooperative, leading to his arrest on suspicion of "obstructing officers in the execution of their duties." He is currently being detained for investigation.

In addition, in the Wan Chai and Eastern Districts, 5 men and 5 women aged between 15 and 69 were taken to the police station for further investigation on suspicion of disturbing public peace. Among them, 3 are currently being detained for investigation, while the other 7 were released after investigation.

The reports indicated that on the 4th, there was a community market with song and dance performances organized by associations in the football fields of Victoria Park. Outside the courts, citizens commemorated in various ways, with some praying on benches, some wearing black while jogging, and others playing the song "Flower of Freedom" on their phones while strolling.

In the early morning of the 5th, police patrols continued in Victoria Park and on Great George Street, but the number of officers was significantly reduced compared to the night of the 4th. Some citizens resting on benches in the park were asked to leave by the police.
