The incident occurred at noon, and Shanghai’s meteorological department had already issued an orange alert for high temperatures, with outdoor temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius. The situation of visitors stranded in the heat has drawn public concern.
According to Shell Finance, on-site witness Mr. Wang described that when the accident occurred, the "Lego Roller Coaster" was ascending the track and then suddenly stopped, with the roller coaster carriages left hanging on the inclined track. "Some visitors were crying," Mr. Wang said, and staff arrived at the scene within minutes to calm the visitors. After about 40 minutes, the trapped visitors were finally guided by Legoland staff to evacuate to a safe area.
Shanghai Legoland is scheduled to officially open on July 5th.
