According to Reuters, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and Vice Minister of Commerce Li Chenggang arrived at the Kuala Lumpur venue on Sunday morning (October 26th) to attend the second day of the latest round of China-U.S. economic and trade talks.
The fifth round of China-U.S. economic and trade talks began on Saturday (the 25th) in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The Chinese delegation is led by He Lifeng and includes Li Chenggang and Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min; the U.S. delegation is led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Beshent.
The two sides held talks for five and a half hours on Saturday. The Chinese delegation did not make a public statement afterwards, while a spokesperson for the U.S. Treasury said: “Today’s talks have ended. The talks were very constructive, and we expect to continue tomorrow morning.”
