(Miri, 1st) In the year of the Snake, on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, along with his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani, made a special trip to the private residence of Miri City Council (MCC) Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang to deliver New Year wishes.
Accompanying distinguished guests included Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah, Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin and his wife, as well as Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Sebastian Ting and others.
In light of the severe flooding currently affecting Miri, the Mayor decided not to arrange dragon and lion dances or other festive activities during the Premier's visit, keeping the event simple. Aside from community leaders, city council officials, several councilors, and members of the SUPP Pujut branch, the event was kept modest.
