(Russia, 26th) – The National Head of State Sultan Ibrahim visited the historically significant Smolny Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia, yesterday.
According to an official post on His Majesty’s Facebook page, upon arrival at the Smolny Palace, which now serves as St. Petersburg's municipal administrative center, His Majesty was received by St. Petersburg Mayor Alexander Beglov, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations Grigoryev, and others.
“Accompanied by Beglov, His Majesty also toured the Smolny underground bunker, an underground protective facility built in 1937 located beneath the Smolny Palace.”
After the tour, His Majesty was treated to a banquet by Beglov, which was also attended by Malaysia’s Ambassador to Russia, Dato’ Bala Chandran Tharman.
During the dinner, His Majesty watched a video introducing St. Petersburg, and Beglov introduced the city to His Majesty. The city is not only one of the world’s major tourist destinations, but also boasts nearly 800 bridges, 94 rivers, and around 200 museums.
His Majesty arrived in St. Petersburg at 2:38 pm yesterday to begin a special three-day visit at the personal invitation of Russian President Putin.
