(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) After years of relentless effort, the Brunei Chinese Charity Association's crematorium construction plan has been officially approved by the relevant authorities, and the association has established a team to coordinate and advance the project. At present, the land survey has been completed, and approval has been granted to begin land clearing and leveling as part of the basic site preparation, marking the project’s entry into the substantive implementation phase.
The construction of the crematorium is an important charitable initiative by the Brunei Chinese Charity Association to promote public welfare. Since the project’s inception, it has received widespread attention and support from all sectors of society. In terms of finances, all circles have actively responded and enthusiastically donated, providing key backing for the early phase of the project. Meanwhile, the building concept design has taken initial shape, and, based on multiple consultations with relevant government departments, architectural planning is being further advanced.
It is understood that the largest expense in the crematorium construction is the purchase and installation of the cremator. As this will be the first crematorium built in Brunei, the related equipment must meet high technical and environmental standards, leading to higher costs. Although partial donations have already been secured, the total funds collected still fall considerably short of the estimated target, and generous donations from all walks of life are urgently needed to ensure the successful completion of this charitable project.
The Brunei Chinese Charity Association stated that the completion of the crematorium will greatly benefit the local community by providing more comprehensive funeral services, while also demonstrating the ongoing contributions of the Chinese community to public welfare. The association calls on all sectors to actively support and jointly contribute to this meaningful charitable project.
Those who wish to donate or learn more about the project are welcome to contact the board members of the Brunei Chinese Charity Association.
